Any fool can paint the outside of a house. Maybe you’ve noticed. But not everybody can do it right. In fact, I see lots of improperly-prepared exterior paint jobs all the time.
Either the painters were lazy, or didn’t know any better, or else they just didn’t care about the quality of their work. Maybe they were just in it for the money. We call those situations ‘blow and go’.
That’s where you come in, do as little surface prep as you can, spray everything, and then get the hell out of there.
I guess if you have low self-esteem then you don’t see anything wrong with it.
Personally, I love myself too much to do shoddy work. But that’s just me.
Fortunately, there’s plenty of painters who insist on doing things right. They care about their craft, and their level of workmanship.
Ultimately, however, it’s the homeowner who must ask the questions and assess the contractor who’s putting in the bid.
Usually, you get a gut feeling about the person you’re talking to. Either it feels right, or it doesn’t. Of course, it never hurts to check out some testimonials!
